Family Portraits in South Sound - Grand Cayman Island
This was a nice day for portraits in South Sound. Normally the prevailing wind is a bit strong and can be a problem with hair blowing and the waves are usually a little bigger in this area. On this day, however, a Nor’Wester was blowing which put South Sound in the lee of the island and we had beautiful flat calm conditions. I always try to do something new at each portrait session. I used portable studio lighting for the initial family shot with the palm tree and sunset in the background, then stuck with available light for a more relaxed feel the rest of the session. South Sound is a special area to me. For many years I lived about 100 yards up the beach near that broken down dock. Even today my home is only a mile up the road. Does that make me a South Sounder?
